With origins dating back to 1478, Oxford University Press (OUP) is the world's largest university press with the widest global presence. Our Global Academic Publishing program spans the entire academic and higher education spectrum, including a wide array of scholarly and general interest books, journals, and online products.
OUP opened a New York office (now OUP USA) in 1896, primarily as a distribution branch, but by the 1920s began publishing books of its own. Its very first publication, The Life of Sir William Osler, won the Pulitzer Prize in 1926. Since that time, we have been privileged to publish a multitude of award-winning books, including 14 more Pulitzer Prize winners.
At OUP, we believe in the power of the written word and the scholarship that stands behind it. Everything we publish relates directly to our mission: to support Oxford University's objective of excellence in research, scholarship, and education. As a press, we take pride in this mission, which allows us to enable, support, and facilitate research and scholarship.

Every year Oxford releases thousands of "scholarly" titles that they do not present to booksellers. Many of these titles are offered at less than a 40% discount, but a fair number of them are 40% discount titles.
On 1/1/2020 Oxford made their "01" titles 40% to booksellers once again (they had for a couple of years only been available at a 30% discount).
While 40% may not be the most desirable of discounts, many of these titles are worthy of consideration. Some you may never have carried, and others you may have carried at one time, but stopped for one reason or another.
